Transfer & Readmission Students

If you've previously attended any of the South Dakota public universities you've got lots of options to finish your degree with the help of Capital City Campus. If you've taken any classes from SDSU, USD, DSU, NSU, BHSU or SDSM&T, you can earn a degree from any one of them.

Start by Selecting a Degree Program

After being out of school for a while you’ll need to choose a degree program to begin again, perhaps in the same field or maybe something new. If you'd like to stay in Pierre you'll want to select degree options within our Finish Here or Start Here, Finish Online programs. If you plan to head to a campus after finishing a semester or two here, consider any of the South Dakota public university degree programs that allow you to Start Here, Finish There.

If you're unsure of the direction you'd like to take your degree, complete the Ready Adult Informational Questionaire. This is a great resource for students who want to finish their degrees and are not quite sure where to begin.

Browse our Program Catalog to find an option that meets your goals and interests.

Apply for Admission

If you've attended a South Dakota Regental University, discontinued enrollment, and now seek readmission, you can restart your college career. Contact the university offering the degree program of your choice for information about how to apply.

If you haven't attended a South Dakota public university, but have college credit elsewhere and would like to graduate from a South Dakota university, contact the university offering the degree program of your choice for information about how to apply.

Additional Items Potentially Needed

Transcripts - If you've completed college classes with both a South Dakota public university and with a non-South Dakota public university, the transcripts for the latter will need to be sent to the university where you're applying. See our partner university resource page to find the admissions office contact information to pass along to your non-South Dakota college registrar(s).

If you've completed college classes outside the South Dakota public university system, the transcripts will need to be sent to the university where you're applying. See our partner university resource page to find the admissions office contact information to pass along to your non-South Dakota college registrar(s).

Prerequisites - If you have not finished an English Composition course and a College Mathematics course yet in your college career, and/or if the university accepting you requires it, you may need to make arrangements to take the ACCUPLACER exam at CCC with their direction as a returning student.

Appeal letter - If your past history at college or a university did not end well, you may be expected to include a letter of explanation with your admission application. Contact us for information about what to include in this letter.
